Avoid unnecessary subscriptions—focus on what genuinely supports your workflow.
Why I No Longer Recommend Social Media Schedulers
At the start of my business, I used every scheduling tool under the sun—Hootsuite, Loomly, SmarterQueue, Sprout Social, and Planoly. Planoly was my favourite for its grid view, but the reality is, times have changed.
The truth? In my experience, all scheduling tools glitch at some point. Posts fail, captions publish in a wonky and unintended format, and platforms randomly disconnect.
Now, with built-in schedulers in Meta Business Suite and TikTok, there’s no need for extra scheduling tools. Posting directly through native platforms reduces errors and improves engagement—plus, it’s free.
What I Do Instead: I plan content in Trello and post manually or use Meta’s scheduling tools. It’s simple, reliable, and avoids unnecessary costs.
Where to Find Free, High-Quality Images for Your Website
Professional imagery elevates your website, but stock photos can be expensive. Fortunately, there are excellent free alternatives:
Unsplash is my go-to, but there are more and more pushes to buy a subscription.
Pexels – Pretty much the same as Unsplash.
Kaboompics – A softer, curated aesthetic perfect for wellness brands, but I find it clunky to use.
Using Canva Images: What You Need to Know
Canva is a fantastic design tool, but its stock images come with licensing rules.
Free vs. Pro Images – Some require a Canva Pro subscription for commercial use.
Resale & Trademark Restrictions – Always check Canva’s licensing terms before using images for business.
